Snappy Bag Fun!

Aren't these snappy bags so cute? I got the tutorial here. It was alot of fun to go pick out these fabrics and tear apart my hubby's broken measuring tape, and CREATE!!!

I just wanted to show off the added beauty to my newest first-time embroidery quilt.  Tia is her name, and she's very smart.
But here is a closer and uninterupted picture of this quilt that I enjoyed stitching up.

The quilt along is here at Clover and Violet's blog. This one is over, but they are starting up another one. I bought all of the fabrics for it, and Im so excited to get started tomorrow!!

Those dreaded granny fabrics Im trying to get rid of

Here is my start to getting rid of my stash. Remember the quilt is Here that I am making. The gray fabric in the bottom left corner is my background for the stars. Today I get to start sewing them all together. I cant wait, I hope it still sparkles with it being calicos and from my stash.

I did change the size of each star to 41/2 inch squares so I only needed 48 instead of 80, and 8 singles, 4 doubles and 8 halves (or 3/4 stars) for the ones that are running off of the quilt. I wanted to be able to use my accuquilt Go! cutter, What fun!
I wasn't sure if I had picked an easy stash project at first, but I think that was due to the fact that I decided to change the size of it all so I started out with a piece of graph paper and drew a quarter of my pattern with the new size to be sure of the math. Now I have cut everything out and sorted out how to organize everything and I think it's coming right along. I'll be sure to link it up at Oh Frannson! when I am done.

Ok so this is the reason Im tired of old fabric and I want to get new! I just got these patterns from my local quilt shop. Thank you to Cozy Mountain Quilts, Katy and of course Amanda Murphy! So NOW do you see why I want new fabric, that old stuff just won't work. I'm so excited.

Oh so tired of my Calico fabric

http://www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransson/2012/01/sparkle-punch-quilt-along.html

I wanted to post a picture here from Oh, Fransson but I was afraid I shouldn't without asking. I'm very tired of my old Calico fabric, my whole stash is nothing but. (I'm very thankful Grandma for giving me my start). So, I think I'm going to have to abandon my dear friends, Sara, Kim and Amy and their Solstice stars project and Do this wonderful sparkle punch quilt along, for I am coveting all the new modern bright fabrics that you all have and I'm desperate to get rid of my old stash.
Thank you Elizabeth for hosting this beautiful sparkle punch quilt along.

My Camara is no good!

I have gotten so many things done on my new Husqavarna sewing machine and I am so ready to really be a blogger but my camara is messed up. This is really the only decent picture Ive gotten. I finished this lovely patio table quilt and it was fun!

I also finished a beautiful bear quilt for my brother and got that sent off. And Ive gone bag crazy!
Want to see? even if the pictures are awful?.

I'm also starting a new craft that I've never done before. Embroidery! Thanks to the inspiration of my Best Friend who has shown me how to do all that I know. Siss! I just love her. Also thanks to Clover and Violet.....Our blissful lives' blog. She has an embroidery quilt along that she hosted awhile back. I wasn't around back then. But I am sure glad I can still access it.

Maybe my camara is the operator, Im not sure, but I will work on it and try to get better at it, But the real sad thing is, Is that that bear quilt was sooooo made with perfect stitches on my new machine and made with aurifil thread, how sweet that is!! That thread!

My New Sewing Machine!!!

I'm really having fun with my new sewing machine that I got for my Birthday and Christmas (Thankful that my Hubby didn't follow through with his threat to wrap it up and make me wait til Christmas). Look at the throat on that thing! It's a very nice size to accomodate a good sized quilt. It doesn't take kindly to cheap thread so I'm off to town today to get some aurifil thread! I can't wait!!

Other than that, I am truly swooning over this machine. I rearranged the homeschool/sewing room so I could put two desks back to back and have a full table to sew on to my hearts content, since we'll need the dining room table for Christmas dinner. OH! It's Christmas time not sewing time? Ah! I had better change gears soon! How bout you all? Have you changed gears and started enjoying the holidays???

A work in progress finished!

I really love to crochet too. This pretty afghan pattern was a pattern from Caron Connections hosted by Vickie Howell. Caron yarn is my favorite yarn, for to me it is the softest. I really enjoyed the colors and think it would pretty in two different colors of pink and gray.

Isn't it pretty?

My first blogger post

Well as I await my Birthday/Christmas present to get here, A new Husqvarna sewing machine, I have been trying to keep busy hence this array of Christmas cards that I made. I am so excited to get to quilting some tops that I've finished. I found a quilt shop (Creative Stitches) near my home that has an all free sewing day, so I can't wait to go on a quilting retreat once a week, with my new sewing machine. Is there anyone out there with experience on a Husqvarna?
